Arsenal supporters remain in the dark over the future of manager Arsene Wenger, with the Frenchman “clear in his mind” over whether he’ll sign a new deal but yet to confirm the details.
There is also widespread speculation concerning Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, with the duo linked to moves away from the Emirates this summer, especially the latter who has attracted attention from Chelsea.
Wenger believes that Sanchez and Ozil both want to stay at the club, while expressing his firm commitment to Arsenal.
Asked if he had anything to say about his future, the 67-year-old said: “Not today, but I am very clear in my mind. It is a subject that is not sorted completely.
“Do I stay two months or two years? My commitment will be exactly the same.
“I personally think that both Sánchez and Özil both want to stay and the club just need to come to an agreement with them.
“I think Sanchez is happy here. It’s true we have not extended his contract yet but I hope he will stay at the club. I think you have to be cautious when people give interviews in their home countries because the interpretation is not always exactly what they wanted to say.
“But I don’t see anything negative [in Sánchez’s comments]. He said he wants to win the championship, that’s what everybody wants and I can understand that completely.”
