Whitehawk v Dagenham betting tips – Non-leaguers set for date with Everton
Whitehawk can get themselves a dream date with Everton in the next round of the FA Cup
December 16th, 2015
Non-league side Whitehawk came close to exiting the FA Cup in the second round after falling behind after a fifth-minute Jamie Cureton goal at Dagenham & Redbridge’s Victoria Road ground in the original tie ten days ago.
It needed another ninety minutes of play for Whitehawk to respond, visiting defender Jordan Rose scoring for the Brighton side some five minutes into stoppage time.
The home crowd will be in high spirits tonight in this second round replay as they look to cheer their heroes into the third round of the competition and a dream date with Everton at Goodison Park in the new year.
Since the sides last met, the National League South outfit have played one league game, beating Maidstone United 1-0, although they head into this clash having been knocked out of the FA Trophy courtesy of a 3-1 defeat at home to Dover Athletic.
League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge should in theory be too strong for the hosts tonight, however this is the FA Cup and anything can happen in this competition.
Indeed, the Daggers aren’t enjoying life in the league at the moment and sit a single point above the bottom two following what has been a pretty dire campaign to date with no wins in their last three League Two outings.
They last tasted success against Wimbledon last month with a 1-0 win at the Kingsmeadow Stadium, although they head into this clash on the back of a 3-2 defeat at Crawley Town and won’t be in the highest of spirits tonight. Dagenham are 6/4 with William Hill to win tonight.
All of this points towards a potential upset and we believe that the home crowd can cheer their side to a win against their League Two opponents and send them into the third round of the FA Cup. Back Whitehawk to win and under 2.5 goals at 5/1 with Boylesports.
