The Hammers remain very much in the hunt for a top-five finish, however they are certainly making life hard for themselves. Until recently they were on course to clinch for themselves a Champions League berth, however failure to turn some decent performances into wins has resulted in Slaven Bilic’s men falling behind in the top-four race.

The Hammers sit just three points fifth-placed Manchester United and victory ¬†tonight could lift them level with the Red Devils, however the Hammers haven’t won in their last six competitive games with five draws in that time and it is about time that they got back on the winning trail.

The East London side could still grab themselves a Europa League spot with a fifth-placed finish and this is still very much a possibility, although three points tonight is clearly essential.

They will nevertheless face tough opposition in the form of a Watford side who effectively secured their top-flight status for another season with their 1-0 win at West Brom on Saturday afternoon. Clearly the Hornets will be attaching a huge amount of importance to their upcoming FA Cup fixture with Crystal Palace, however they will still prove a difficult obstacle for the Hammers this evening.

We’ll be siding with West Ham on this occasion, however with the hosts just 1/2 with Paddy Power to seal the three points we’ll be looking elsewhere for some meatier odds. With Bilic’s men scoring thirteen goals in the previous six top-flight matches but keeping just a single clean-sheet, we’ll be going with Sky Bet’s 21/10 for a West Ham win and both teams to score.

As regards goalscorers, we really cannot look past Andy Carroll and he looks a tempting proposition to score anytime at odds of 7/5 with Paddy Power. Carroll has been on excellent form of late with a hat-trick against Arsenal and a goal against Premier League leaders Leicester City on Sunday afternoon, therefore with five goals in his previous four Premier League appearances, we believe that he will find the net at some point tonight.
