West Ham United v Newcastle United Tips – Hammers & Magpies set to share the spoils at Upton Park
Entertaining it should be, but will there be a winner?
September 14th, 2015
Monday evening’s Premier League offering sees a winless Newcastle United make the journey to East London in what promises to be an entertaining but ultimately winless encounter.
The hosts have had a rather strange start to the campaign, defeating Arsenal in their opening game at the Emirates and clinching full points at Anfield, whilst suffering home defeats Bournemouth and Leicester City.
If this pattern were to continue in tonight’s encounter, Newcastle would return home with the points in the bag, however it won’t be quite that simple. The Hammers will be in high spirits following their wins on the road against Arsenal and Liverpool, therefore the emphasis will be very much on clinching their first win at Upton Park.
Indeed, a freshness in the home squad has been provided with the arrival of summer transfers which include Alex Song, Nikica Jelavic, Michail Antonio and Victor Moses, the latter being on loan from Chelsea and looking a decent bet at 3/1 to score at some point tonight.
Talking of goals, we feel that there may be quite a few in East London this evening. West Ham’s two home matches have returned ten and with Newcastle conceding in all but one of their games this term, we’ll be backing both teams to score at 4/6 with Paddy Power.
Overall, the Hammers should put a halt to their successive home defeats although they will struggle to seal the full points against a Magpies side which did well to hold Manchester United to a goal-less draw at Old Trafford recently.
