West Bromwich Albion v Watford tips: No weekend points for stingless Hornets
A dour clash should be settled by a single goal at the Hawthorns
December 2nd, 2016
To be fair not much was expected from West Bromwich Albion and Watford prior to the start of the season, however whilst they haven’t exactly set the Premier League alight with dazzling displays of brilliance, they have nevertheless more than met expectations and should possess the edge over the Hornets in this weekend’s clash at the Hawthorns.
Indeed West Bromwich Albion could consider themselves pretty unlucky not to have secured all three points from their visit to Hull City’s KCOM Stadium last weekend, the Baggies dominating for long periods against a Tigers side which look increasingly destined to life in the Championship next season.
Nevertheless the draw in East Yorkshire extended West Brom’s unbeaten run to three matches and Pulis’ side are starting to show signs of flair in their attack, something which has been lacking at the Hawthorns for quite some time. This was evident in the 4-2 home win against West Ham United in September and we saw it again when the Baggies put Burnley to the sword 4-0 in the West Midlands two weeks ago.
Will they show a similar amount of attacking flair when they come up against Watford on Saturday afternoon? If they do then it will be game over for a Hornets side which have been pretty much under the cosh of late. Mazzurri’s men have been their usual inconsistent selves in this season’s Premier League campaign and whilst they managed narrow wins over Leicester, Hull and Middlesbrough in their previous eight games, we expect them to come up short against a Baggies side whose renewed confidence should carry them to three points in what will nevertheless be a very tight encounter.
