West Brom v Everton preview – back Toffees to fill their boots
Roberto Martinez’s team should record victory at The Hawthorns
September 12th, 2014
Everton have two points from their opening three games despite playing some of the best football in the Premier League this season.
Having led twice at Leicester, they were pegged back to a 2-2 scoreline, while the same thing occurred against Arsenal after leading 2-0.
The 6-3 defeat against Chelsea means that Phil Jagielka’s place in central defence is up for grabs, with John Stones ready to come in, while Samuel Eto’o could make his full debut against the Baggies.
Bet365 go 6/5 about an away win on Saturday and it’s pretty backable against a West Brom side who have failed to score in their past two matches, having started the campaign with a 2-2 draw against Sunderland.
Manager Allan Irvine was a player and assistant manager at Everton, although he appears to have his work cut out with West Brom, with the Scot already pleading for time to get things right at the Midlands club.
Romelu Lukaku famously spent a season on loan with the Baggies although the Belgian could be the chief architect behind a victory this weekend, with Steven Naismith having played a blinder in all three Everton games to date.
It’s clear that the Merseyside team are full of goals while always likely to concede the odd goal and we’ll go for a couple of fancy scoreline prices along with an away win.
