It was clear that Allan Irvine was not the first choice to take charge of West Brom this season, with Tim Sherwood among those men offered the job before the Scot got the chance to take Albion forward.

Many scoffed at this appointment although Albion have really taken off after a poor start to the season, with a 1-0 victory at White Hart Lane proving to be the turning point of the season.

A 4-0 demolition of Burnley preceded bright performances against Liverpool and Manchester United, with the Midlands side leading the Red Devils twice before having to settle for a point on Monday night.

Even so, bet365’s 10/11 about a home win look worth taking as West Brom look to make sure they are well clear of the drop zone before the end of the season where the Baggies have been handed a horrendous final few fixtures which won’t be for the faint-hearted.

Brown Ideye could be set to play a part after recovering from injury although the star striker right now is Saido Berahino who is playing his way into England contention and scored a fine goal against United in the last match.

Stephane Sessegnon is also a class act as an attacking midfield player, with the Benin international a 15/2 chance to score the first goal of this game.

Crystal Palace are missing Damien Delaney through suspension, with the Eagles price at 15/4 with BetVictor to win the game as Neil Warnock looks to bounce back from consecutive defeats against Hull and Chelsea.

Perhaps Wilfried Zaha will be given a chance to feature in this match, with the Manchester United winger having lost his way at Old Trafford although West Brom should make their superiority tell throughout the ninety minutes.
