Watford v Swansea City Tips – Swans will deny Hornets their first win
New-boys Watford will be put to the sword at Vicarage Road
September 11th, 2015
Watford have failed to score since the first day of the season. Swansea have banged in seven so far, holding Chelsea to a 2-2 draw and putting two past Manchester United in a 2-1 victory. This should be a formality then.
Perhaps we shouldn’t be so brash, indeed Watford could suddenly spring into life although the truth is that Quique Sanchez Flores’ side are in for a very tough assignment on Saturday against a Swans team who will be brimming with confidence following their win at home to the Red Devils prior to the international break.
Bafetimbi Gomis and Andre Ayew were the heroes in that encounter, both scoring just after the hour mark following a Juan Mata goal for the visitors and Garry Monk’s men will be eager to carry this momentum into this away fixture.
Watford head into this match on the back of a 2-0 defeat away to Manchester City, however of perhaps more concern was their capitulation to Championship side Preston, the Hornets losing 1-0 at Deepdale in the Capital One Cup late last month.
Clearly, all of this points to an easy victory for Saturday’s visitors and Watford need to dramatically improve their game should they wish to get anything from this clash against a Swans side which are truly firing on all cylinders at the moment.
With the Hornets failing to find the back of the net since the start of the campaign, we’ll be going for a 3-0 victory for a Swansea City side who are surprising many this season, not least themselves perhaps.
