Chris Coleman’s side did their nation proud during the summer, the Welsh side storming into the semi-finals of the European Championships before being knocked out of the tournament by eventual winners Portugal. They have launched their World Cup 2018 bid in similar fashion having earned five points from their first three outings, however following their draw with Georgia in their last match they will be looking to return back to winning ways this weekend.

The Welsh will be bolstered by the return of Joe Allen and Aaron Ramsey in midfield, both of these players missing the Georgia match through injury. The return of this duo will almost certainly provide the Welsh with the creative spark required for a win over Serbia on Saturday.

The Serbs defeated Wales twice in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, however this is a very different Welsh outfit and while Serbia have clinched seven points from their opening three qualifiers, the hosts haven’t lost at home in any competitive match since 2013. Can the home side sneak a win on Saturday? We believe so and at odds of 7/5 with BetVictor, you could make some money on a home win by backing Chris Coleman’s side on the outright winner market.

Those looking for meatier odds should consider backing Wales to win and both teams to score with Bet365 going 9/2 for such an outcome. Wales made it to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 courtesy of their clean sheets, however they have managed just four in their last fifteen games and we believe that the Serbs can get into the scoresheet at the Cardiff City Stadium this weekend.

Who else to back on the anytime goalscorer market than Gareth Bale, the Real Madrid favourite banging in three in his last three competitive matches. Bale will certainly be crucial to Wales’ chances of sealing the points this weekend and given that he has a proven ability at both club and national level this season, he seems a banker at 6/4 with BetVictor to score anytime.

Our tips:

Back Wales to win and BTTS at 9/2 with Bet365

Back Gareth Bale to score anytime at 6/4 with BetVictor
