Tottenham v Liverpool Tips – Klopp eager to make immediate impact
Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to start his Liverpool tenure with a win on Saturday
October 14th, 2015
The German has received warm welcome from the Anfield faithful, although his reputation is such that the weight of expectation will be lying heavy on his shoulders.
Klopp is now at a club which has stumbled through the first part of the Premier League campaign, this fact emphasised by their record of three wins, two defeats and three draws from their opening eight top-flight matches.
Despite Liverpool winning just once in their last six Premier League outings, they are still just three points behind the top four, therefore Klopp has plenty of time to turn the Reds’ season around.
Nevertheless, it still remains to be seen what kind of side the German will be fielding at White Hart Lane this weekend, although with Daniel Sturridge now fully fit, Klopp now has a rather welcome choice of selection up front with Divock Origi, Danny Ings and Sturridge in the frame.
Spurs will be looking to end a poor record against Liverpool during which they have lost the last five meetings. Nevertheless, although not enjoying the best start to the Premier League season, they have just suffered defeat once so far and the side sit eighth in the table.
Liverpool will be eager to clinch a win which would underline their statement of intent under their new manager however and their utterly dominant record over Tottenham would suggest that a victory for the Merseysiders is very much on the cards this weekend.
Goals are usually in abundance when these two sides meet and with the last six encounters each producing at least three goals, we expect that this trend will continue on Saturday.
Sturridge marked his return to full fitness by scoring twice against Villa and he offers the most significant threat for Liverpool in front of goal with Ladbrokes going 15/8 for him to score anytime.
