Tottenham v Burnley tips – Spurs set for handsome win against Clarets
Christian Eriksen can inspire Spurs to victory on Saturday
December 19th, 2014
Tottenham Hotspur qualified for the Champions League five seasons ago under Harry Redknapp, with Mauricio Pochettino hoping that he can emulate one of his predecessors’ success this term.
Twenty-four points from 16 games played isn’t a shabby return and away form has been particularly impressive, although Spurs need to knuckle down at White Hart Lane and get more wins on the board.
The North London side have won just three of their eight games at the Lane and experienced four defeats, with the players struggling to produce performances in front of their own supporters.
However, on Wednesday night, there was a big 4-0 win over Newcastle in the Capital One Cup and that sets things up nicely for a victory against a Burnley team who aren’t great on the road.
The Clarets have lost four of seven away from home and their only success on the road came thanks to a 2-1 win against Stoke which was a victory of the smash and grab variety.
Coral go 8/15 about a win for Spurs although we are thinking the 5/4 about a half-time and full-time outcome in favour of Tottenham could be the way to go here.
Christian Eriksen has been the star performer this season, with Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane potentially forming a potent partnership and the defence is even looking like one who could keep clean sheets.
