Tottenham Hotspur v Swansea City tips: Win-to-nil for Spurs on Saturday
This is very much a must-win and a should-win for Tottenham Hotspur
December 2nd, 2016
Swansea City threw themselves a massive lifeline in south London last weekend when they won 5-4 at Crystal Palace, sub Fernando Llorente scoring twice for the Swans in injury time after the Eagles looked to have secured the three points. Was this result a blip in an otherwise dismal Swansea campaign or is it a sign of better things to come at the Liberty Stadium?
There’s little doubt in our eyes that it is the former. Crystal Palace are a club in crisis and the manner in which the Swans swept past their utterly dreadful defence says more about the on-field problems at Selhurst Park than any possible improvement in Bob Bradley’s side.
Indeed we’re expecting business as usual for Swansea when they head to White Hart Lane for their second capital visit in eight days. Bradley’s side may have found the back of the net five times last weekend but they nevertheless conceded four times against an Eagles outfit which haven’t been in the habit of scoring much in recent weeks. This in itself should highlight the problems with a Swansea side which still sit in the relegation zone despite their recent victory.
There is very little to suggest that Swansea have turned the corner in the slightest and we’re of the opinion that Hugo Lloris will have a quiet time of things as he guards the Spurs goal on Saturday afternoon.
As for Tottenham Hotspur, they haven’t been in top form for a while now with a single win in their last ten outings in all competitions. Even this solitary victory needed two late goals as Spurs saw off city rivals West Ham, although Pochettino’s men sit fifth in the league table and it is hard to imagine them failing to add three points to their current total when Swansea come to town on Saturday. Nevertheless Spurs are pretty poor value at 4/11 for a win, therefore we’ll be going for a win-to-nil at the meatier price of 11/8 with BetVictor.
