Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City tips: City to maintain perfect perfect record
With both Spurs and Manchester City unbeaten in the Premier League, who will claim the three points this weekend?

Manchester City enjoyed a perfect run across all competitions prior to the midweek clash with Celtic in the Champions League, however they still remain unbeaten under new boss Pep Guardiola. The Citizens were expected to run riot over the Scottish champions in what had been billed as a ‘Battle of Britain’ however they were forced to come from behind three times to salvage for themselves a point in the east end of Glasgow.
Despite seeing his side’s 100% record come to an end, Guardiola was nevertheless satisfied with the result.
“Maybe this is a good lesson for our future on the importance of starting well,” he said to the media following the final whistle. “They scored three goals but didn’t have many chances. We created enough to win the game.
“Thinking about the performance, how they fight, how they tried until the end to win the game, it doesn’t matter about the mistakes, I was so satisfied. We scored three goals away in Europe and created clear chances. That’s the best way to learn.”
The Premier League leaders now face Tottenham Hotspur in north London and they will be in for a tough time against a side who haven’t tasted defeat in the Premier League this season with 14 points from their opening six games.
Spurs bounced back from defeat to Monaco in the Champions League in emphatic fashion by winning their subsequent four outings, however they head into Sunday’s match on the back of what will have been a tiring trip to the Russian capital on Thursday evening and they will be missing star-player Harry Kane once again.
Bearing all of this in mind, we’re going to side with the visitors in this one. City may be the away team but they are 6/4 favourites with Betway to return home with the points in the bag. We believe that they will live up to their billing as favourites, although we will be looking for a slightly meatier price on the Citizens.
City may be banging in plenty of goals so far this season but they are also leaking a few at the other end. This means backing a Manchester City win and both teams to score at 16/5 with Coral, a decent price for what looks a pretty solid bet.
There are a couple of tempting choices on the anytime goalscorer market. Kane may still be absent through injury and Janssen may not be enjoying the best of form, however Son Heung-Min has been picking up any slack with three goals in his last two appearances and we believe that he will make it four in three when he takes to the White Hart Lane pitch this weekend at odds of 9/4 with Sky Bet.
Another obvious choice is Sergio Aguero, the Argentinian failing to make his mark at Celtic Park but nevertheless managing eleven goals in seven games for City. It wouldn’t surprise us if he adds to that already impressive tally by banging in one or two on Sunday at 13/10 with Betfair.
