Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City Tips – Another slip-up for City?
Will Manchester City suffer a second successive Premier League defeat on Saturday?
September 24th, 2015
A loss to West Ham certainly wasn’t on the cards. Until last weekend, Manchester City appeared to be storming their way to the Premier League title and faced the Hammers on the back of five straight wins with eleven goals scored and none conceded.
An excellent opening to the season perhaps, but West Ham weren’t impressed and inflicted upon City a second successive 2-1 defeat following their capitulation by the same scoreline in their midweek Champions League clash with Serie A champions Juventus.
Can a wounded City bounce back with a win against Spurs on Saturday? To be honest they should do, however Mauricio Pochettino’s men will also be licking their wounds after suffering their second defeat of the season last night against their old foes Arsenal in the third round of the Capital One Cup.
In the Premier League, Spurs are unbeaten since their opening day defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford and victory against City would narrow the gap between the two sides to just three points. Can they do it? Indeed, they can, however City will be a wounded animal this weekend and Manuel Pellegrini will be desperate to steer his side back to winning ways.
Ultimately, we feel that the defeat to the Hammers was just a blip and City will return to winning ways at White Hart Lane on Saturday, although Spurs can and will get their name onto the scoresheet at some point.
