Tottenham Hotspur v Everton Tips – Another setback for the Toffees
A winless Spurs will be desperate for their first win of the season on Saturday
August 28th, 2015
We think it would be fair to say that Tottenham Hotspur haven’t enjoyed the best start to the season. An opening day 1-0 defeat to Manchester City and subsequent draws against Stoke City and Leicester City hint at another uninspiring season ahead, however could all this change on Saturday afternoon.
Everton will be the visitors to White Hart Lane this weekend and at least they have a Premier League win under their belts. They opened their season in creditable enough fashion with a 2-2 draw against new-boys Watford and followed this with an emphatic 3-0 win at Southampton. They stumbled against Manchester City with a 2-0 defeat at Goodison Park last weekend but bounced back against Barnsley in the midweek Capital One Cup clash, pulling themselves back from two goals down and sealing their progression to the third round thanks to a 5-3 win.
It is reasonable to expect that they will head into this match in relatively high spirits following their cup exploits, however Spurs will present them with a much tougher challenge than League One side Barnsley and the hosts will doubtless be desperate to snag their first win of the season.
Indeed, Mauricio Pochettino will be leaning on England international Harry Kane to deliver the goods and we feel that he will do just that with the only goal of a match which should prove to be a tight and closely fought encounter.
Just don’t expect a goalfest – we’re not!
