Tottenham Hotspur v Besiktas tips – Spurs to struggle against Turks
Besiktas make a second trip to North London this season, having narrowly lost to Arsenal at the Emirates
October 1st, 2014
Slaven Bilic saw his team come narrowly close to beating Arsenal in the Champions League play-off stage, with Demba Ba’s late effort going wide and they now face Tottenham in the Europa League as a result.
Both teams opened with a draw and it looks as though this match could end all square, with both Bilic and Mauricio Pochettino looking to rotate their squads ahead of domestic fixtures.
Spurs certainly make little value at 13/20, even if bet365 have best price about a side that drew 1-1 at the Emirates on Saturday although their opening Europa League match finished goalless against Partizan.
After winning their opening four matches, Tottenham have found it harder to triumph in games, claiming just one victory in their last six matches and that was against Nottingham Forest in the Capital One Cup.
As for Besiktas, they are unbeaten in five matches since losing at Arsenal, although three of these games have ended in a draw, with Asteras claiming a point a fortnight ago.
Bet365 go 5/1 about the visitors claiming victory, with the draw priced at 3/1 and there’s certainly no case for piling into the home side while they struggle to score goals in volume.
Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado are struggling for goals as Pochettino continues to make progress with a squad that was inherited from Tim Sherwood, with the team still suffering a post-Gareth Bale hangover.
