Spurs are looking very difficult to beat under the leadership of Mauricio Pochettino this season. The White Hart Lane outfit added to the defensive strength during the summer with the addition of Toby Alderweireld and Kieran Trippier, thus making them the joint strongest Premier League defensive side.

The main problem for Spurs lies at the other end, however confidence will have been gained following their 5-1 hammering of Bournemouth in their last outing and we firmly expect the North Londoners to build on this result with another win tonight against a Villa side who are rooted firmly to the bottom of the table.

Villa are one of just three sides who have never before suffered relegation from the Premier League, however their position is looking increasingly precarious even at this early stage of the season. Indeed, the managers Villans won’t be brimming with confidence heading into this encounter, given that they head to White Hart Lane on the back of seven successive top-flight defeats, hence why their odds are as high as 8/1 with Bet365 for an away victory this evening.

Spurs have been much stronger at the back following the acquisition of Alderweireld and with just eight goals conceded in their first ten Premier League games and three clean sheets, we feel that a toothless Villa side will fail to find their way to the home goal.

Indeed, Villa have struggled up front since the loss of Benteke to rivals Liverpool and we’ll be backing a win-to-nil for the hosts at odds of 13/10 with BetVictor.

The key to Tottenham’s forward line is Harry Kane, the England international struggling somewhat at the start of the season but certain to be in high spirits following his hat-trick against the Cherries last time out.

This match should be a relatively comfortable and predictable home win for Spurs. Villa will be desperately low on confidence following a dreadful run of form and should provide easy pickings for the hosts in North London.
