Swansea v West Ham United tips: Don’t back goals at the Liberty
It's make or break time for Swansea boss Bob Bradley
December 20th, 2016
Swansea City manager Bob Bradley will certainly be a worried man and he will be anxious for a Boxing Day win which could prove crucial in determining whether he remains with the south Wales club for much longer.
The Swans head into this match on the back of some dismal form, their last two outings ending in defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough and West Brom with some six goals conceded in total and just one scored in reply. Nevertheless while Swansea may have been utterly dreadful away from the Liberty Stadium they have been pretty solid on home turf with seven points earned from their last four home games.
Their only defeat since the beginning of October was against Manchester United, however our confidence in the side is hardly boosted by the manner of their recent defeats to Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion and we certainly won’t be backing the hosts to take anything whatsoever from this Boxing Day clash.
To be fair, we’re hardly convinced by the Hammers either and whilst Slaven Bilic’s men have won their last two Premier League games, they certainly weren’t convincing against what were two of the weakest top-flight teams – namely Burnley and Hull City.
This is a very tough game to call and as a result we’ll be completely avoiding the outright winner market. West Ham and Swansea City have both been pretty dire so far this season and we have absolutely no confidence in either of their abilities to seal the three points at the Liberty Stadium. Neither side will want to lose this game however and a somewhat cagey affair should ensue which will likely result in a dearth of goals. Exciting it won’t be and the best we can recommend is to back Under 2.5 goals at Evens.
