Garry Monk saw his team’s 100% start to the season end on Saturday when losing at Stamford Bridge although there was plenty to like about Swansea during that 4-2 defeat.

The Welsh side kept going and took a surprise lead against Chelsea, with Monk wondering what the outcome might have been if the Swans had gone into the break a goal ahead.

Swansea will now re-focus on the job of beating Southampton, with City having previously beaten Manchester United, Burnley and West Brom. The fans will want to see the 100% record at the Liberty continue.

Even so, Ronald Koeman’s side arrive full of confidence themselves. Having been unlucky to lose 2-1 at Anfield and then played out a goalless draw against West Brom, the Saints have been excellent when winning 3-1 at West Ham before a 4-0 thrashing of Newcastle.

You could argue that Southampton are the in-form team of the Premier League behind Chelsea and the 19/10 with bet365 about an away win looks attractive, with Koeman deserving enormous credit for the way in which he has restructured the squad following the departures of Shaw, Chambers, Lallana and Lovren.

Graziano Pelle hasn’t stopped scoring since arriving at St Mary’s and he’s a 13/2 chance to score the first goal of this particular game, with bet365 going 11/5 about him finding the net at any stage of the game.

Swansea are a 6/4 chance to win the game and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them returning to winning ways, although the fact that they beat Burnley and West Brom shouldn’t be overstated considering these are two of the weaker teams in the section.

Both of these teams should find the net considering they are creating plenty of chances and odds of 4/5 are available that this happens.
