The sun isn’t exactly shining on Swansea City’s Premier League campaign at the moment although things are starting to look a little brighter, however can the Swans’ upturn in fortunes continue?

Without trying to sound negative, the visit of Southampton on Saturday afternoon will test the home side to the limits and one shouldn’t forget that Francesco Guidolin’s men were in a bit of a pickle just a few weeks ago. Their 4-2 defeat to Sunderland could have been the start of a continuing decline, however the side pulled themselves out of this predicament by embarking on a four-match unbeaten run with draws against Crystal Palace and West Brom and wins over Everton and Watford.

Can they continue in a similar vein this weekend with the visit of Southampton? The South Coast outfit were struggling themselves through December and into January, although their Premier League fortunes appear to have improved since then with their 1-0 defeat at Norwich being followed by wins against Watford, West Brom, Manchester United and West Ham as well as a draw with title favourites Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

As a result, we see no reason whatsoever why they shouldn’t be backed to bring Swansea back down to earth with a bang in front of their home supporters and with the visitors up for grabs at 6/4 with Coral to seal the points on Saturday, we’ll be going with Koeman’s men to do the business at the Liberty Stadium.

Those looking for a tastier price would do well to back a Saints win and both teams to score at 19/4 with Boylesports. The Swans may be close to the drop zone but they have found the back of the net in all of their outings since the turn of the year in all competitions and we’re confident that they can continue in a similar manner this weekend.
