Swansea City v Manchester United Tips – Red Devils will scrape another win
Can Manchester United's bogey team strike again?
August 27th, 2015
Swansea City achieved a double over the Red Devils last season. Could they continue their impressive record against Louis van Gaal’s side this season?
It’s not an impossibility, let’s face it. United may have opened their campaign with two wins and a draw from their first three Premier League matches, although it should be remembered that they have only found the back of the net on two occasions since the start of the domestic season.
They have however more than impressed in their Champions League qualifying campaign with their latest two-legged European match returning a 7-1 aggregate win against Club Brugge, last night’s second leg seeing skipper Wayne Rooney decide to wake up and actually start scoring.
His hat-trick was certainly indicative of a timely return to form and should this be a sign of things to come from the previously under performing captain, we could see the Red Devils avenge for their two defeats to Swansea which did much to thwart their title ambitions last season.
It must be said that the Swans have been no slouches this season either. They surprised many by holding reigning Premier League champions Chelsea to a 2-2 draw in their own back-yard on the opening day of the season and followed this with an excellent 2-0 win against what was admittedly a rather lacklustre Newcastle United side. Their subsequent 1-0 win at Sunderland may have been less convincing, however they will nevertheless be in relatively high spirits as they look to inflict upon Manchester United a fourth defeat in the last five meetings between the sides.
Can they do it? Indeed they can, however Van Gaal will looking for an improved result than that which saw them draw 0-0 with Newcastle United last weekend and the Red Devils will attack with full force against the Swans’ solid defence.
This encounter may not provide Manchester United with their most convincing result of the season so far, however they have only managed two 1-0 wins to date and another one would suit them just fine.
