Sunderland v Norwich City tips – Black Cats will remain pointless
Sunderland and Norwich will aim to put their opening-day defeats behind them when they go head-to-head on Wearside on Saturday afternoon
August 14th, 2015
Sunderland suffered a 4-2 defeat to Leicester City last weekend, while Alex Neil’s Canaries were defeated at home by Crystal Palace, leaving both sides searching for their first points of the new season.
The Black Cats dispelled any early-season optimism when they slumped 3-0 down after just 25 minutes thanks to some utterly dreadful defending against a Leicester City side who were taking no prisoners up front. One tends to think that boss Dick Advocaat needs some more time to address the problems at the Stadium of Light but one also feels that his time may be limited.
At Carrow Road, Alan Pardew’s Palace underlined their Premier League credentials over newly-promoted Norwich by earning themselves a thoroughly deserved three points, although there was a degree of controversy surrounding a goal effort by Cameron Jerome which was judged to have been from a high boot.
Indeed, the Canaries may be the more capable side in this encounter but we can’t really back them with any real conviction. Nevertheless, they will be up against a Sunderland side who appear to have serious problems in defence and as such, we’ll be opposing the home side to get anything whatsoever from this match.
Norwich win/Draw – Coral 4/7
