Sunderland v Manchester City Tips – Sorry Black Cats no threat to Citizens
It will be more of the same at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday evening
September 22nd, 2015
What is Dick Advocaat to do? Should he rest his ‘star’ names that are failing to deliver this season in the Premier League or should he send them out in this Capital Cup clash in the hope that they can thoroughly boost their confidence by defeating the league leaders with the threat that it could possibly be dented even further?
There is no doubt at all that the Dutchman has a very difficult choice to make ahead of this match, however whatever he decides to do, we think that he will be in for another thoroughly disappointing day at the office. Indeed, perhaps the most worrying thing for Advocaat is that his side have already suffered defeat to two of last season’s promoted Championship sides in the form of Bournemouth and Norwich City.
Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini will be expected to make a few changes to his starting eleven, although his ‘backup’ players will definitely have enough about them to dispose easily of what is a very sorry Sunderland side.
On a few occasions, cup competitions such as these could become a rather unwelcome distraction for sides aiming to beat the drop, however a surprise win over City tonight would inspire the Black Cats towards moving towards the form required to lift them up the Premier League table.
Can they do it though? The simple answer is ‘No!’
