The Black Cats stopped the rot on Monday and can earn a point against the Toffees

Sunderland survived a couple of penalty scares at Selhurst Park to win 3-1 on Monday night and Gus Poyet will be hoping that kickstarts an unbeaten run throughout the winter months.

Sunday’s fixture against Everton is a tricky one although facing the Toffees directly after a Europa League game isn’t too bad considering that Roberto Martinez’s side have lost twice directly after European matches this term.

Sunderland are a 3/1 chance with bet365 to land another maximum haul and Steven Fletcher will be looking to follow up his brace against Palace, although Everton are not in the habit of losing matches.

Since losing at Old Trafford, it has been three wins and two draws in all competitions, with Martinez confident that his squad is big enough to cope with European commitments as well as domestic matters.

Ross Barkley, Steven Pienaar and Samuel Eto’o should all return to the starting line-up and the fact that three of Sunderland’s five matches have ended in a draw this term means we’ll go for this game to end all square too.
