Stoke City v Southampton betting tips – Saints set to beat Potters again
Ronald Koeman set to field strong team for tonight’s Capital One Cup match at the Britannia
October 29th, 2014
Southampton are the surprise package of the season thus far, with Ronald Koeman having taken the reins from Mauricio Pochettino and quickly rebuilt the squad following the departure of several notable players.
Only Chelsea are perched higher in the Premier League than the Saints and Koeman is also intent on a charge towards the Capital One Cup, with Southampton having won 2-1 at the Emirates in the previous round.
A strong team is expected to represent the visitors tonight and Paddy Power offer 5/4 about a win for the team sitting second in the Premier League, with Dusan Tadic, Graziano Pelle and Morgan Schneiderlin all in line to start the game.
Southampton beat the same opponents on Saturday and while the 1-0 scoreline was a slender one, tonight’s visitors might well enjoy exposing Stoke on the counter-attack as the hosts press forward.
Mark Hughes has seen his team collect eleven points from nine games played and the Potters have won the last two matches at the Britannia, although wins against Newcastle and Swansea were close run encounters.
Saturday’s clash against West Ham is of more importance than this game and Hughes is likely to make several changes to his team.
