Both Stoke and Man City sailed through into the Capital One Cup semi-finals earlier in the week thanks to victories over Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City, however a much tougher assignment awaits them both when they go head-to-head this weekend.

Can we expect a few goals from these attack-minded outfits? You bet we can, given that the visitors are the Premier League’s top-scoring side with a total of 30 goals so far. Nevertheless, they will be up against a Stoke City outfit who have managed clean sheets in all but two of their last seven outings and as such, we’re anticipating a clash of styles at the Britannia on Saturday.

Stoke City head into this match on the back of a slip-up against struggling Sunderland last weekend, however apart from that unfortunate defeat, the Potters have been enjoying some good form since the start of the campaign and will be desperate to bounce back from last weekend’s result, although given that they have failed to win all but two of their last fourteen meetings with City, we’re not too confident of their chances of sealing the three points at home. Winner offer 19/4 for a Stoke City win.

The Citizens will be eager to maintain their lead atop the Premier League table and thus keep their title challenge very much on track and we’re of the belief that they can achieve this, although they certainly won’t have it all their own way. Stoke have been enjoying some good form of late and it wouldn’t be a huge shock to see them find the back of the net at some point, given that the visitors have conceded in seven of their previous eight games.

With Bet365 going 12/5 for a City win with both teams scoring, you could be forgiven for thinking these odds rather skinny, although we believe that they represent great value and this is out main recommendation for this clash.
