Stoke City v Burnley tips: back-to-back wins for Potters
Will Burnley flatter to deceive at the Britannia this weekend? We think not...
December 2nd, 2016
It seems rather remarkable (at least it does to us) that the Clarets are just short of Evens to suffer relegation back to the Championship at the end of the season. This is a massive price for a side which are arguably the worst side in the division at the moment. Sean Dyche’s men launched their campaign in decent enough fashion although it could be argued that their points were mostly picked up in matches in which they were outplayed, notable examples being the wins over Liverpool and Everton.
It is often the case that newly-promoted teams from the second-tier enjoy a decent start to Premier League life and that things start to go down the pan towards the festive period. This would appear to be what is happening at Turf Moor with Burnley following a 4-0 thrashing to West Brom at the Hawthorns with a 2-1 defeat at home to Manchester City in their last outing.
Will it be three defeats on the bounce for Sean Dyche’s men this weekend at the Britannia Stadium? We’re very much of the opinion that it will, however the Potters aren’t the best price for the three points at a meagre 8/13. Clearly we need to look elsewhere for better value and perhaps the stand-out bet is to back Stoke City to win by a couple of goals on Saturday afternoon. The Clarets have lost by at least this amount in four of their last five away games in the Premier League and we expect this trend to continue in the Potteries with Stoke City attractively priced at 19/5 to win by two goals this weekend.
