Sporting Lisbon v Chelsea tips – clinical Blues set for victory
Jose Mourinho should return to Portugal and steer his Chelsea side to victory
September 29th, 2014
Chelsea stumbled against Schalke a fortnight ago although there should be no mistake on Tuesday night when the Blues travel south to face Sporting Lisbon.
Sporting themselves opened with a draw at Maribor and are the clear underdogs to beat one of the Champions League favourites, with bet365 going 9/2 about a win.
The Portuguese side have yet to experience defeat this term although results have included several draws and not too many clean sheets, with Friday’s big clash against Porto seeing Jonathan Silva fire the home team into the lead before they were pegged back.
Nani is on a season-long loan from Manchester United and will be eager to impress, although the Chelsea juggernaut is in full flow and the Blues themselves have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the campaign.
Saturday’s 3-0 win against Aston Villa on Saturday keeps them odds-on favourites to win the Premier League title, although there is some concern over Diego Costa whose hamstring injury is preventing him from training at the moment.
It means a likely start for Loic Remy and the possibility of Andre Schurrle operating in an advanced position, with the former a 5/1 chance to break the deadlock in Portugal.
A Chelsea victory looks to be on the cards as Cesc Fabregas continues to keep things ticking over in the midfield department before Sunday’s clash against his former club Arsenal.
