Southampton v QPR tips – 6/5 Pelle to put Hoops to the sword
The Saints set to continue winning against a Rangers team still looking for first win
September 25th, 2014
Southampton were being tipped for relegation at the start of the season although Ronald Koeman is making an early bid to be manager of the campaign, with the Dutchman having drafted in some quality players in wake of the mass exodus.
Graziano Pelle is one such player, with the striker having found his feet quickly in England and he can help the Saints to another three-point haul, having won matches against West Ham, Newcastle United and Swansea.
The 4-0 thumping of the Magpies was particularly impressive and the bookies have certainly got wise in the sense that Boylesports offer a best price 40/85 about a home win on Saturday.
Five straight wins have occurred in all competitions, with a 2-1 triumph at the Emirates on Tuesday ensuring that Southampton are on track for a piece of silverware this term.
Indeed, several first-team players were fielded in that match and that included Morgan Schneiderlin who has put his summer transfer angst behind him to become possibly the most important member of the squad.
However, that man Pelle can’t be ignored at 6/5 to score at any stage considering that the Italian bagged a brace when his side thrashed Newcastle, with QPR unlikely to stop the home side.
Rangers scrambled a 2-2 draw against Stoke last weekend although their last two away games have seen Harry Redknapp’s side thrashed 4-0 against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Considering neither of these teams have pulled up any trees this term, there is clearly a problem with away form and a Southampton win to nil can be backed at a lumpy 13/10 with Paddy Power.
Keep an eye out for Nathaniel Clyne who has already scored a couple of beauties this term and the full-back can continue to cement his England credentials.
Southampton to win to nil @ 13/10
Graziano Pelle to score @ 6/5
