Southampton v Chelsea tips – Blues set to march on at St Mary’s
Jose Mourinho’s team set for an efficient performance
December 27th, 2014
Since losing at Newcastle, it has been five straight wins for Chelsea and there is no reason to suggest they won’t continue their victorious ways at St Mary’s.
The Boxing Day win over West Ham was comfortable enough, although the 2-0 triumph at the Britannia Stadium in the previous game was far more impressive, with a robustly defensive performance shutting out the Potters.
Eden Hazard is having another fine season, with Cesc Fabregas pulling the strings in midfield and Diego Costa finally ending Chelsea’s hunt for a prolific striker.
As for Southampton, they are back in the groove after wins against Everton and Crystal Palace made all the more impressive by the loss of key personnel, with Ronald Koeman addressing a run of defeats.
However, the Saints’ record against the better teams is suspect as could be seen from reverses against Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City, with Costa set to prove the difference in this encounter.
