Sheffield Wednesday v Nottingham Forest Tips – More joy for the Owls this weekend
Hot on the heals of their shock win over Arsenal, Sheffield Wednesday can continue winning ways at home to Forest
October 29th, 2015
It hardly needs saying that the Sheffield Wednesday supporters will be on cloud nine following their Capital One Cup triumph over Premier League high-flyers Arsenal on Tuesday evening, and we expect them to have even more to cheer when they come face-to-face with Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls sit ninth in the Championship table with 20 points to their name following an excellent start to the season with just one defeat in their last ten matches. They have knocked two Premier League sides out of the Capital One Cup and will be hugely confident of grabbing their fourth win of the month against a Forest side who are currently sitting in the wrong half of the league table.
Wednesday’s last Championship outing ended in a 2-1 win at Rotherham’s New York Stadium last Friday and start this match as firm favourites against a Forest side who have failed to clinch a single win since beating Birmingham City 1-0 last month.
The visitors have now gone six games without a win and head into this fixture on the back of a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town and we feel that they will struggle against a Wednesday side which will be in the highest of spirits following their heroic midweek cup exploits.
With Sheffield Wednesday managing clean sheets against both Newcastle United and Arsenal in the League Cup, we’ll be backing the hosts to keep the visitors out of the net throughout this encounter with a comfortable home win at Hillsborough.
