San Marino v England Tips – Three Lions will have few problems on Saturday
England will be looking for their seventh successive win in the Euro 2016 qualifiers and San Marino won't be stopping them
September 3rd, 2015
It will be business as usual for the Three Lions this weekend as they engage in what looks set to be their most one-sided match of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign so far. Tiny San Marino was thoroughly defeated to the tune of 5-0 at Wembley in the reverse fixture last October and it will be more of the same in the tiny republic on Saturday.
An England victory is not really in doubt this weekend, however the big question will be how many the Three Lions can put past the Group E whipping boys?
England have won all six of their qualifying matches with fourteen goals scored and a mere three conceded. As such, San Marino will have little to stop them and a thoroughly one-sided encounter is very much on the cards.
The hosts have performed as expected in this campaign with defeat in all but one of their qualifying matches, their single point coming from a goal-less draw with Estonia in October. With no goals to their name in their six opening games, there is little chance of them finding the back of the net against an England side which have managed four clean sheets from their opening six outings.
All eyes will be focused on captain Wayne Rooney as he fast approaches the all-time England scoring record currently held by Sir Bobby Charlton. A brace by Rooney against San Marino would see him overtake that long-held record and that is something which we expect in this match.
England are 7/4 to win their remaining matches and finish their qualifying campaign with a 100% record and they can move closer to that with a thorough win over San Marino on Saturday.
