Premier League title odds – Manchester City odds-on for title
Manchester City may have suffered defeat to Spurs at the weekend, however they are still odds-on to win the 2016/17 title
October 4th, 2016
Pep Guardiola’s men enjoyed a blistering start to their season with six straight wins in the Premier League going into the weekend clash with Tottenham Hotspur, however they stumbled at White Hart Lane and following the 2-0 defeat in north London their lead at the top of the table has been cut to a single point with Spurs in hot pursuit.
The Citizens are still favourites to clinch the Premier League title at the end of the campaign although their odds have slipped from 8/13 to 10/11 with the leading bookies. Despite ending City’s winning run, Spurs are fourth favourites to finish the season in pole positional odds of 17/2 with Coral, bigger odds than Liverpool at 9/2 with Betway and arch-rivals Arsenal at odds of 7/1.
Liverpool bounced back in style from their shock 2-0 defeat to Burnley in early August by going the next five Premier League games unbeaten with four wins in that time. Jurgen Klopp’s men have been banging in the goals since the start of the season and the money has been pouring in on the Reds with their price continuing to tumble.
Manchester United stumbled to a 1-1 draw with Stoke City in their last outing and this has resulted in their title-winning odds slipping down to 16/1 with Bet365, the same odds as a Chelsea outfit who may have to content themselves with a top-four finish as the limit of their ambitions this season.
