Premier League 2017/18 Relegation – Terriers lead the way at 4/7
Huddersfield Town will struggle in the Premier League, at least that's what the bookies predict
May 30th, 2017
Of the newly-promoted sides from 2015/16 it was Middlesbrough and Hull City who bounced straight back down to the Championship at the first time of asking with only Burnley remaining in the top-tier to fight another day. The question is, how will the newly-promoted sides from 2016/17 fare in next season’s Premier League?
At the top of the Relegation Betting Market are Huddersfield Town at odds of 4/7 with Bet365. David Wagner’s Terriers needed extra-time and penalties to ease past Reading in the Championship Play-Off Final on Monday and they will now face a season in the Premier League for the first time in their history. The question is, will this be their only season in the sun?
Confidence will be taken from AFC Bournemouth with the Cherries looking forward to their third season in the Premier League after making their first ever foray into the top-flight at the end of 2014/15, however the bookmakers aren’t too optimistic about Huddersfield Town’s chances of escaping the drop at the close of 2017/18.
The assumption is that the Terriers will bounce straight back into the Championship at the first time of asking with Burnley and Brighton also expected to struggle. The Clarets enjoyed a decent enough campaign and played little part in the relegation scrap in the latter stages of the season, however they are 6/4 second-favourites to be relegated at the end of the next campaign.
