Partick Thistle v Kilmarnock tips: Three on the bounce for Jags at Firhill on Saturday
An improving Partick Thistle can secure another three points on New Years' Eve
December 30th, 2016
It looked as though Partick Thistle would remain rooted to the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table into the new year, however back-to-back victories over Ross County and Dundee FC have propelled the Jags into the top half of the table and far from looking like a false dawn, we’re of the opinion that their winning ways can continue this weekend when they welcome Kilmarnock to Firhill.
Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian, Rangers and Celtic have been made to work pretty hard for their points when facing an improving Jags team and there is little doubt that this is a side very much on the up. We’re expecting this improvement to continue at the weekend when Killie come to town, especially since the visitors will be in low spirits following their 4-0 demolition by Hearts in their last outing.
Killie’s overhaul during the summer has brought little in the way of dividends so far and the defeat to Heart of Midlothian extended their dismal winless run to five outings. Lee Clark’s side are without a win away from home and as a result we have no hesitation in backing a Partick Thistle win this weekend.
The home side are 17/20 to win at Firhill and whilst these odds will almost certainly provide the punter with a winning return, much better value can be had by backing the hosts to win-to-nil at 11/5. Kilmarnock haven’t been prolific on the goal-scoring front by any means and we don’t anticipate this changing on Saturday afternoon.
