Norwich City v Manchester United tips – Relegation and Europe at stake
Will a Red Devils win on Saturday prove a case of too little too late?
May 5th, 2016
Alex Neil’s Canaries were unfortunate to lose by a single goal to a far-from impressive Arsenal side last weekend, however they were unable to offer up anything which could cancel out the only Gunners goal and as such they are in a rather treacherous position with two points separating them from fourth-from-bottom Newcastle United.
We’re expecting a similar outcome on Saturday lunchtime when Manchester United make the journey to East Anglia. Louis van Gaal’s men haven’t exactly been scoring for fun this season and will be nearly as desperate for a win as the home side, however we believe that they will be offered little in the way of resistance as they seal the three points this weekend.
Betfred go 10/11 for a Manchester United victory, not great odds perhaps but a price which should return winnings. This is effectively the last chance for Norwich City to save their Premier League status and it is a test which we don’t believe they will pass.
The home side will be looking to frustrate the visitors and catch them on the break, however the Canaries have been shy in front of goal this term and this will be the main reason for their likely relegation to the Sky Bet Championship. Realistically, the best that Norwich can hope for is a goal against the second-best defence in the Premier League. Nevertheless, this would prove little more than a consolation in what looks set to be a United win.
The Red Devils have a genuine opportunity to close the gap between themselves and arch-rivals Manchester City to a single point. Van Gaal has steered the side to some critical victories at vital times and we expect that this will be another of those occasions.
This game should prove closely-fought and should United find themselves ahead, the home side won’t be giving up. Norwich’s discipline abandoned them in their 3-0 defeat to Sunderland recently, however we believe that they will keep their cool on Saturday lunchtime. United have triumphed by single-goal margins in five of their last six wins and we feel that this will be the case in East Anglia this weekend. Back Manchester United to win by a one-goal margin at 11/4 with Sky Bet.
