Norwich City v Everton betting tips – Top six place awaits Toffees
Everton can climb into the top six on Saturday afternoon
December 11th, 2015
The Premier League action kicks-off at Norwich City’s Carrow Road ground where Everton are the visitors on Saturday afternoon.
Roberto Martinez’s Toffees have now gone five Premier League games without defeat, a decent statistic and one which has lifted them to within spitting distance of the top six. They are also in the last four of the Capital One Cup thanks to their 2-0 win at Middlesbrough last week and as such will be brimming with confidence ahead of their journey to East Anglia this weekend.
Things are extremely congested in the middle of the league table with a mere two points separating sixth position from twelfth, therefore with the Toffees sitting ninth, a win at Carrow Road would lift them above Crystal Palace and into the top six, at least until the 3pm kick-offs anyway.
It has been a mixed bag for Everton so far this season and they are fast getting a reputation of being draw-specialists, only Spurs managing more draws this term. Martinez will be eager to turn these into wins and he will have then ideal chance to do this when his side clash with a struggling Canaries side.
Norwich really are struggling and are outside the bottom three purely on goal difference. That have won just once in their last ten league games, although they succeeded in holding Arsenal to a draw in their last home match and boss Alex Neil will be quietly confident that he can get something from this match.
We’re not the slightest bit confident, quietly or otherwise. The Canaries have been struggling badly in the goal-scoring department and that is proving their undoing. Obvious enough perhaps, however when one considers that their top scorers are midfielder Nathan Redmond (4) and defender Russell Martin (3), then their predicament becomes clearer – no prolific-scoring forwards.
This will almost certainly prove to be their undoing at home to Everton on Saturday afternoon, although this fixture has traditionally been known to contain a few goals. Spurious as this statistic may be, we’ll be backing over 2.5 goals at Carrow Road at 10/11 with Boylesports.
With goals come goalscorers and who will we be backing to score on Saturday? The answer should be pretty obvious – Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian striker excellent value on the anytime goalscorer market at 6/4 with Ladbrokes.
