MK Dons v Sheffield United tips – Blades can keep winning
Nigel Clough treating the Capital One Cup seriously tonight
October 28th, 2014
Sheffield United have been quietly going about their business in recent weeks, picking up wins and propelling themselves into the play-off spots of League One.
After a slow start to the campaign, the Blades could easily find themselves in the Championship next term and Nigel Clough is hoping to keep the momentum going in the Capital One Cup this evening.
Clough said: “You only get four opportunities to win or do well in something each season so why would you want to throw one of those away? That makes no sense to me whatsoever.
“Our next four games are all in different competitions so, we’ve reminded the lads, that we don’t want to find ourselves chasing just one target in a few weeks time.
“Yes, we play a lot of matches. Especially at this level and that places demands on your squad.
“But, strangely enough, if you want to be successful then that means you’re going to play more. We might sound a little bit old fashioned but, in this instance, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Quite the contrary in fact.”
Bet365 go 12/5 about a win for the visitors at Stadium MK, with United claiming a 1-0 victory at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday and they seem to be operating a much sturdier defence than earlier in the campaign.
The Dons claimed the scalp of Manchester United earlier in the competition and are also one of the better League One sides, although they come into the game off the back of just one win in their last four games.
Karl Robinson will be eyeing the chance to make the last eight of the competition although whether his team can stop a team on the rise remains to be seen. Let’s not forget that the Blades claimed the scalp of West Ham earlier in the tournament.
