MK Dons v Manchester United tips – Dons 15/2 to beat United youngsters
Louis van Gaal unlikely to field any first team players for their Capital One Cup match against MK Dons
August 25th, 2014
Manchester United are a team in transition and Louis van Gaal is unlikely to compromise his squad on Tuesday night when the Red Devils head to Stadium MK.
Despite not playing in Europe this season, United won’t be making the Capital One Cup much of a priority and it’s anyone’s guess as to the sort of team that the Dutchman will be fielding when the Red Devils face a League One side.
Having collected just a point from Premier League encounters against Swansea City and Sunderland, we should see Ben Amos line up in goal for this match, with defenders Michael Keane and Reece James being fielded as Van Gaal looks to assess the players on the fringe of the first team.
Shinji Kagawa and Danny Welbeck will be looking to put themselves in the shop window lest there should be interest although it’s hard to be too confident about an away win in this game and odds of 2/5 offer no value.
The MK Dons have been plying their trade in League One for several seasons and Karl Robinson’s team will fancy their chances of a scalp in this encounter, with the team having won one and drawn one of their home games to date.
Saturday’s goalless draw against Coventry was the first match of the campaign where the Dons had failed to score a goal, with Will Grigg looking to kickstart his career after a disappointing stint with Brentford last term.
The home side are a 15/2 chance to win the game and a lot depends on team news, although the best bet could be on both teams to score in what should be an open encounter.
