Celtic are back in the Champions League after an amazing reprieve which saw them reinstated after Legia Warsaw fielded an ineligible player.

The Scottish champions are now two matches away from the group stage despite a 6-1 aggregate defeat at the hands of their Polish opponents, with Ronny Deila still struggling to believe his luck as the team prepare for a match in Slovenia.

Bet365 offer a best price 13/8 about the Bhoys winning Wednesday night’s first leg match, although it’s hard to see why Celtic should be such a short price considering the way they were beaten 4-1 in Warsaw a couple of weeks ago.

Fraser Forster has since left for Southampton and we shouldn’t be overly influenced by Saturday’s 6-1 victory against Dundee United which saw five different players on the scoresheet for Celtic.

“It was a very good performance, especially the first 60 minutes – there were a lot of things that I’m looking for,” the Norwegian told BBC Scotland after that match.

“I’m proud of the players, they worked so hard. We gave the fans what they should have and that’s very good. We want to be an attacking team and play attacking football.

“We have still a lot to work on. On the sides we have a lot to improve because we are so good in the centre. We were unbelievable in set plays today. We worked a lot on that and talked about that as well. Lots of things to be happy with today.”

Nevertheless, the team isn’t as strong as previous versions under Neil Lennon when you consider Gary Hooper and Victor Wanyama were part of a previously successful team in Europe, while Craig Gordon will struggle to replace Forster.

Maribor are a 19/10 chance with BetVictor and the Slovenians overcame Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-2 on aggregate in the previous round, claiming a 1-0 win at home before a 2-2 draw away in Israel.

William Hill offer 11/10 about Maribor on the Draw No Bet market and the fact that this is the first leg where both sides want to stay alive means this could be the bet to have.

BETTING TIP: Maribor on Draw No Bet market at 11/10 with William Hill.
