Manchester United v Middlesbrough tips: Red Devils to keep pressure on top four
The Red Devils can make it five on the bounce on Saturday afternoon
December 26th, 2016
Things are starting to look up at Old Trafford recently with Manchester United returning some excellent results and whilst Jose Mourinho’s men were far from convincing earlier in the campaign, they have now gone eleven matches without defeat in all competitions with their 3-1 Boxing Day victory over struggling Sunderland extending their impressive winning run to four games.
Jose Mourinho will be confident of steering his side to a fifth win on the bounce when Middlesbrough head to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon. The Teessiders sit just four points above the bottom three in the league table and many predict that they will be plying their trade in the Championship next season.
Aitor Karanka’s side have managed just one win in their previous three away games and we’re of the opinion that they won’t add to this total when they visit Old Trafford this weekend. United have been impressive on home soil this season with just a solitary defeat at Old Trafford and the bookmakers are confident about their chances of picking up another three points on Saturday afternoon, most firms going just 1/4 that this proves to be the case.
The Red Devils are just four points adrift of the Premier League top-four and there isn’t much to suggest that they won’t keep the pressure on the leading pack by recording a fifth successive win on Saturday. Middlesbrough are having a torrid time of things in the top-flight and we don’t believe that they will head home with anything for their troubles, not even a consolation goal.
