Manchester United have ambled their way into the Premier League top four despite a spate of disjointed performances including last weekend at the Emirates where they weathered an Arsenal storm before counter-punching the Gunners.

It helps when you have star talent available to score the goals, with Wayne Rooney showing up Robin van Persie at the moment and it might be that Louis van Gaal deploys the England captain with Angel Di Maria against Hull on Saturday.

United will probably win the game and that is reflected in the 1/3 about a home victory, with Hull looking distinctly off colour at the moment as Steve Bruce works out how to stop a run of five games without a win.

On the flip side, the Tigers have avoided defeat in four of their six road matches this term and this includes a 2-2 draw at the Emirates where they nearly won, along with a goalless draw at Anfield.

A repeat of the above would be greatly received by Hull and the draw price is a 9/2 chance, with the visitors certain to probe away at a United defence which is essentially second choice considering how many players are out injured.

However, that man Rooney is bang in form and we like the 9/2 about him scoring first in this game, especially as he’s likely to be on penalty duties.

Betfair offer 6/5 that the United skipper finds the net at any stage of the game and we reckon it will pay to back the Red Devils to be ahead at half-time and full-time.
