Manchester City v West Ham Tips – Six on the trot for Citizens
Manchester City can extend their perfect start to the season when the Hammers come to town
September 18th, 2015
West Ham are certainly one of the Premier League in-form teams at the moment but can they halt the City juggernaut as it storms rapidly towards the Premier League title?
Yes, we know that it is extremely early in the season and it would be foolhardy to predict the title winners this early in the season, however City have very clearly set their stall out and it is hard to see anyone stopping them in their pursuit of this season’s Premier League crown.
Indeed, City sit five points ahead of second-placed Leicester City after the opening five matches, although more crucially they are five clear of Arsenal and Manchester United and some eleven points ahead of struggling Chelsea at this point.
West Ham are enjoying their own season too, having bounced back from their surprise home defeat to new-boys Bournemouth by comprehensively beating Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield and following that with a 2-0 home win over a poor Newcastle United side in their last outing.
These results would suggest that their early exit from the Europa League was no huge loss perhaps, although despite away wins over Arsenal and Liverpool we feel that a win at the Etihad would perhaps be a step too far. City have yet to concede in the Premier League this season with eleven goals to their name and we don’t feel that the Hammers will change this statistic this weekend.
We’re not expecting a complete thrashing for West Ham on Saturday, indeed they deserve more than that. Either way, a narrow home win will cement City’s case for a third Premier League title.
