Manchester City v Watford – Citizens won’t be stung at the Etihad
Who can stop Manchester City this season? It won't be Watford, that's for sure
August 27th, 2015
Three draws in three Premier League games isn’t too bad really, however this season’s draw specialists are about to get a rude awakening by a Manchester City side which look unstoppable.
The Citizens have scored eight without reply in their three opening matches and they won’t be too worried about the prospect of facing a Watford team which have failed to score in any of their last three outings in all competitions.
The Hornets started things off in a creditable fashion, holding Everton to a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park, however they have failed to find the back of the net since then with goalless draws at home to Southampton and West Brom. Follow this with a 1-0 defeat at Preston in the Capital One Cup and Watford need to rediscover the art of scoring, and quickly.
Hornets boss Quique Sanchez may be reasonably confident that he can consolidate his side’s position in the top flight at the end of the season, given that they are as yet undefeated in the Premier League. His opposite number at Manchester City will be concentrating on higher things however – the Premier League title.
City utterly dominated proceedings in their last outing, Defender Aleksandar Kolarov and Samir Nasri scoring the goals which were enough to seal the points at Goodison Park at the weekend. Who would bet against them dominating this weekend against a Watford side which have failed to score since the opening day of the season? Not us!
