Manchester City have already dropped seven points this season and Manuel Pellegrini’s side could be set to stutter again this weekend.

The champions of England have won just one of their three games played at the Etihad Stadium this term, while they were also held by Roma in the Champions League which will fill Tottenham with confidence that they can get a result in front of the BT Sport cameras.

There is certainly little value on banking on City at odds of 1/2 considering they have lost at home to Stoke City this term and were thankful to Frank Lampard for a late equaliser against runaway leaders Chelsea.

Tottenham arrive in Manchester having avoided defeat on all three road trips to date, winning at Upton Park before landing draws at Sunderland and Arsenal, with the latter performance especially impressive from a defensive point of view.

Mauricio Pochettino will hope that compatriot Sergio Aguero is nullified and the fact that the match takes place after the international break is no bad thing for Spurs considering the number of air miles being racked up by their opponents.

A recent 1-0 home win against an in-form Southampton side illustrated Spurs’ new-found steel from a defensive point-of-view, with Jan Vertonghen now restored to his best position alongside Younes Kaboul after spending far too much of the last season operating as a left-back.
