Manchester City ended up as top dogs in the Premier League last season and they could make a decisive step towards another league title by beating one of their fiercest rivals.

Manuel Pellegrini has a full compliment of players available for this Sky Sports-televised encounter and punters can get 20/23 with BetVictor that City claim three valuable points against their Merseyside opponents.

The English champions were largely outstanding at the Etihad Stadium last term and that included a 2-1 victory against Liverpool, with bet365 offering a free In-Play bet to all customers that should be snapped up by every customer!

Sergio Aguero should make his first start of the season in a City shirt, with the Argentine having scored at St James’ Park after coming off the bench and the striker could prove deadly against a new-look Liverpool defence.

Even so, the visiting supporters will hope that Dejan Lovren ushers in a new era of stout defensive qualities, with Martin Sktrel his preferred partner at the back.

Mario Balotelli is set to sign on the dotted line for Liverpool, having previously enjoyed a colourful stint at the Etihad although the Italian won’t be available for this game and it’s Daniel Sturridge who will once again be leading the line.

Coral go 7/1 about the striker scoring the first goal of the game, with Sturridge anther player who has previously turned out for City and the England man will be out to prove he’s the main man for the Reds.

Bet365 go 10/3 about an away victory which is an attractive price about an attacking team, although the best bet of the match could be Over 2.5 Goals considering that eight goals were shared over two games last term.

BETTING TIP: Over 2.5 Goals
