Manchester City v Everton tips: Back goals galore at the Etihad
We expect the goals to be flying in when Manchester City go head-to-head with Everton this weekend
October 14th, 2016
Both Manchester City and Everton were the in-form Premier League sides earlier in the season, however both stumbled somewhat prior to the international break. The Citizens had won their opening ten games in all competitions before being held to a disappointing 3-3 by Celtic in the Champions League and beaten 2-0 by Tottenham Hotspur, while Everton’s five-game winning run was ended by back-to-back defeats to Norwich City in the EFL Cup and Bournemouth as well as a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace, the latter results drawing a shadow over the appointment of Ronald Koeman as Toffees boss.
Clearly both teams will be determined to bounce back from these recent disappointments and it has all the makings of a cracking goal-filled encounter. If only the TV cameras were there to bring us the live action.
Following the draw with Celtic and the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City’s air of invincibility has completely evaporated and Toffees boss Ronald Koeman will doubtless realise that the Citizens can cave in when pushed. Everton will therefore attack from the outset and this should make for a thrilling and entertaining encounter on Saturday afternoon. Over 2.5 goals is rather short at odds of 4/7 with Betfair although Over 3.5 goals smacks of value at 7/5 with the same firm as both sides look to send out a clear message to their rivals.
