Liverpool v West Ham Tips – Reds will dish out a hammering at Anfield
Another disappointing result for the Hammers will see them leave Anfield with nothing for their troubles
August 27th, 2015
It all started so well for West Ham. A 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates on the opening day of the Premier League season and optimism pervaded the air in the east end of London ahead of home games against Leicester City and new-boys Bournemouth.
Two home defeats later and Slaven Bilic is a much less happy man. A 2-1 defeat to a decent Leicester City side was hard enough to take, but following the 4-3 loss to Bournemouth last weekend, an air of despondency descended upon Upton Park and it doesn’t bode well for the journey to unbeaten Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will be more content than his Hammers counterpart following two albeit unconvincing 1-0 wins against Stoke City and Bournemouth and a more creditable 0-0 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates earlier this week.
Monday’s match was a defensive showcase as keepers Petr Cech and Simon Mignolet contributed towards clean sheets for both sides, however Liverpool will display a more offensive approach against the Hammers at Anfield on Saturday.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic shouldn’t let the frustration of two successive home defeats affect his judgement ahead of this match, however Rogers’ scoring trio of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Christian Benteke are deadly against any team in the Premier League and we feel that a rout is very much on the cards on Merseyside this weekend.
