Liverpool v Hull City tips: Back goals at Anfield on Saturday
A resurgent Reds won't have things all their own way when the Tigers come to town this weekend
September 23rd, 2016
We think it fair to say that Liverpool have been pretty much a mixed bag this season so far, mixing moments of brilliance with some absolutely dismal performances, the low point of which was almost certainly their 2-0 defeat to newly-promoted Burnley last month.
Perhaps our ‘brilliance’ statement is a bit of an exaggeration although to be fair the Reds have at times demonstrated that they could conceivably mount a serious challenge at the top of the table towards the close of the season.
Inconsistency has been their downfall so far, however they did successfully bounce back from that Clarets defeat to manage seven points from their subsequent three outings, this involving a home win over Leicester City, an away win against Chelsea and a draw with Spurs at White Hart Lane.
Indeed, Jurgen Klopp’s men are enjoying g some excellent form at the moment and with a 3-0 victory over Championship side Derby County in the EFL Cup under their belts, they will head into this weekend’s match brimming with confidence.
Who could blame them, given that they are overwhelming favourites at 1/4 to seal the three points on Saturday afternoon. Opponents Hull City have managed just a single point from their last three games and their last Premier League outing saw them hammered 4-1 at home to Arsenal.
All of this points very much towards a Liverpool win on Saturday, however we wouldn’t be surprised should the Tigers also get onto the scoresheet given that the Reds have been less than solid at the back so far this term.
