The Three Lions are a mere one game away from completing the perfect qualifying campaign ahead of next year’s European Championship finals in France and Hodgson’s men will get the win they need against Lithuania tonight.

England have enjoyed a thoroughly smooth road to the finals of this competition, winning all nine of their qualifying games to date with 28 goals scored and seven clean sheets into the bargain. Indeed, they have qualified from the group with games to spare, although the next challenge is to ensure they complete Group E with ten wins from ten matches.

The bookmakers fancy their chances and so do we. Paddy Power go 2/5 that the Three Lions return home from Lithuania with the points in the bag, however we will be seeing a different England side in Vilnius tonight, manager Roy Hodgson looking to give some fringe players a chance to shine for their country.

England thrashed Lithuania to the tune of 4-0 when they met in the reverse fixture at Wembley and despite Hodgson making changes this time around we fully expect the side to do the double over the East Europeans. It won’t be the same emphatic win perhaps, but the Three Lions should do enough to ensure that the points head back home and with it a perfect Group E record.

Those odds of 2/5 are far from appealing however and that clearly means looking elsewhere for some better value. We don’t need to look too far though with some solid bets on the handicap market. Hodgson’s boys have won all but one of their qualifiers by at least two goals and we expect them to do the very same on this occasion, therefore we’ll be backing England -1 with Paddy Power going 5/4.

The other bet worthy of consideration is an England win-to-nil at Evens with Sky Bet. England have amassed seven clean sheets in Group E and will be facing a Lithuania side who haven’t exactly been scoring for fun. England should get the valuable win tonight with a clean sheet the icing on the cake. Indeed, with most bookmakers going odds-on for an England win-to-nil, SkyBet’s Evens for such an outcome is very generous.
